The Model 950 becomes a chlorine filter through the process of absorption.  Activated carbon is a media for improving taste and odours of almost all kinds.  Activated carbon is a form of carbon that has been processed to make it extremely porous.  Due to its high degree of micro-porosity, just one gram of activated carbon has a surface area in excess of about two tennis courts.
